Hello all, it has officially been 5 days. I have signed up two people, one is my friend/business partner Staci who has high cholesterol and triglycerides..the other is my Grandmother who has join pain and is on medication for high cholesterol.
I went to a 'meeting' on Tuesday at Panera Bread here in Indianapolis and met Dana Huston and two of her friends, one of which was already a member and the other who needed some time to make her decision. I invited two people to come and listen to the meeting. One of which was my agent Marla who, I had just found out was a Mona Vie distributor..which is a competitor to Vemma so she had alot of questions and it appears as though she is going to sign up this week sometime. The other person who came to the meeting was one of my agents Brian..he understands MLM opportunities and I'm anxious to see what his understanding of this one is...I want to try to gather as many public opinions on the product and the business as I can so that I add that to my experiment here.
My goal this week is to sign up a minimum of 2 people...I am told that I need to do that to keep consistent with the organizational structure and to achieve maximum success....and who doesn't want that?!

In The Beginning...
Hi everyone! If you know me, you will know that I am what they may call..a risk taker. I have never been the type to shy away from a challenge and am certainly not afraid to try new things. One thing I can also say about myself is that I also possess the ability to know within a relatively short amount of time if something just isn't for me.
This brings me to the purpose of this blog. To date, I have been a member of 7 MLM companies from 1999 - present. I currently use or distribute the following products, Arbonne, Isagenix and Advocare. I only use a product that I truly believe in and to believe in a product I have to do one thing..USE IT!
I am a real estate broker, and several months ago I began working on a transaction with a great agent named Noelle. Noelle and I talked several times on the phone as well as email. When, one day as we were talking, I mentioned that my husband was a personal trainer. She then informed me that she had been using a great product called Verve and Vemma and that she and her husband had become distributors, they liked it so well, and she would love to get some samples for me. (I liked her approach, she waited for the right moment and a good 'lead in' to talk to me about it...very non threatening!)
Unfortunately, it took well over a month for us to finally get together . After hearing about the product and doing a little research on my own, I decided to attend a meeting that she invited me to last night. What I am about to say may shock you....but I was a little pesimistic and someone skeptical...I know... Me...Queen of network marketing and direct sales...skeptical! I don't know how, but somewhere along my journey through MLM's, I picked up the very characteristics that I despised in others ...with the horrible habit of judging something before I even gather the details..shame on me!!
So at the meeting, I met a wonderful couple from Illinois named Ruth and Jeff..they had started with Vemma in Dec. 2004 and have built their business up to an income of $1.7m last year. I will stop here and tell you that If I had a dime for every person that I've met who 'says' that they have a 'friend who is making 20 grand a month in an MLM'....I wouldn't be here typing to you now! Talk is cheap when it comes to Network Marketing (imo). However, Ruth and Jeff did the unspeakable...they backed up their talk with hard and true numbers. Right on the big screen, they connected to the web and showed us their 'numbers' for the past few months. To say that my jaw dropped would be an understatement. They showed us the bonus line from their first month in the business..which was only about $100...all the way to current which is approx. $24,000 per month! And all of this with an initial investment of a months worth of Vemma at $60?? They sure didn't LOOK like millionairres...this was starting to get interesting..
The next thing that Ruth said that caught my eye was that they never INTENDED to build a team that large and make $1.7m...and in fact, in the beginning, their goal was to supplement their income with $1500/mo. Over their entire career with Vemma, they had only personally sponsored somewhere around 20 people...then, after that..a little thing called "momentum" had taken over in Bloomington-Normal, IL! Just from those initial 20 people, they have grown to over 20,000 people in their organization ranging from Bloomington, IL to Europe! They seemed as genuinely surprised that it happened so fast as we were. But they pointed out that when something is so simple, inexpensive and truly beneficial and results driven...it just explodes!
What I learned next was WHY it grows so fast...the answers simple...b/c it's EASY to be a member! There are no crazy terms or fee's that you have to pay like some other MLM's..with this company, simply using the product and being on autoship for a min. of $60/mo gets you a personalized website, a spot in your sponsors 'downline' and the ability to start earning bonuses just by referring people to the website to purchase the product.

- No membership fee's or initial LARGE orders required
- You are not required to personally sell the product or refer people to receive a weekly paycheck, it's all about getting on autoship at the right time! Why? Because getting on autoship gives you a 'spot' in your sponsors downline. Everyone who she signs up on autoship after you...goes beneath you...and the commission flows upward to you..and then to your sponsor. So yes...you will get a check simply for being in the 'line'.
- The product sells it'self b/c it WORKS! There are testimonial after testimonial of amazed customers on how awesome this product is in increasing your health by lowering blood pressure, cholesterol, equaling out hormones, prostate health, A.D.D and especially in providing the appropriate nutrients to our kids through the use of the Mangosteen fruit!

One thing I've had to do in deciding to do this experiment is to reflect back on my other MLM opportunities and ask myself "why did I fail or not stick with this one..or that one?" There were two common themes that I kept thinking of: 1) many of them were quite expensive startup costs, which is hard for alot of people, esp. right now 2) most of them took quite awhile to begin turning a profit...there were alot of quotas in sales and pesonal volume..and quite honestly it just got confusing and 3) There were alot of products to have to be an expert on..I frankly just didn't have time to dedicate to the training necessary to learn and keep up on all of the products...they were GOOD products, don't get me wrong..I just don't have a very good short term memory =)
I can say that I've known people in every gammet of MLM. Take my friend Blondina for example, she and I are alot alike in the way that we will never pass up an opportunity! However, the flip-side to that is that we end up trying to promote every company under the sun ha. Then, take my friend Deb, who has climbed her way to the upper peaks of the Arbonne mountain. As successful as she has become, she will be the first to tell you that it was NOT easy..and is not something that you can just walk away and close yourself off from for a week or two. It is a lifestyle and you have to absolutely love it! So, in retrospect I can say that using myself as a small sample of the population...people who join MLM's want to make money and they want to make it fast and easy..bottom line!
SO...while I am highly intrigued in not only this product..but also in learning how the corporation and bonus structure works...I am cautiously proceeding ahead..sometimes when something is too good to be true..it just might be! So, I'll be checking in here every once in awhile to give you my stats so you can see my progress.
Oh..and by the way..i sponsored my first person five minutes after I joined the company today! how's that for fast start!
